Odaiba
In the late 1980, grand plans were hatched to create a futuristic mini city, - Oceanfront Sub-city Center- on new land-fill, to be inaugurated during a planned 1996 international exposition.
It was a massive white elephant and an obvious waste of money, and a newly elected governor of Tokyo cancelled the exposition.
Building that were completed, including Kenzo Tange s futuristic Fuji TV Building and Tokyo Big site, are rather magnificent.
The country is simply Japan (Nihon or Nippon) the land of the rising sun.he island is extremely popular with young people, especially couple who flock to shopping and amusement treats like Joy polis, a virtual reality emporium, Palette town, a leisure center that include a giant wheel, Venus fort, a bizarre indoor shopping street with over 150 shops under an artificial sky that change from sunny, to gray, violet and stormy depending on the time day.
A good view of the island and its futuristic construction can be seen from monorail that leaves Shinbashi station for the artificial island over the Rainbow bridge.
Palette Town
The shopping mall has everything from clothes and miscellaneous goods to groceries. The giant Ferris wheel is very popular.
The theme of the hot spring facilities is Edo period culture. You can enjoy natural hot spring here.
