Hida-Takayama has preserved the feeling of castle town, apparent by its history-filled street.With the latticed bay windows and linked eaves of merchant's houses in Sanmachi-Suji, the enduring historical temples and shrine of Higashiyama,and the reproduction of Higa's traditional mountain farming villages of sloped-roof houses at Hida Folk Village, the town its self could be called a sightseeing spot.The Takayama festival held in spring and autumn is known as one of the three most beautiful festivals of Japan. Other tow are the Gion festival of Kyoto and the Chichibu night festival of Saitama prefecture.
Day 1 Tokyo-Mt Fuji- TakayamaMeeting point is hotel you stay. Leave Tokyo for Mt Fuji via Chuo express highway by private mini van. Drive half way up to 5th station(2,350m) of Mt Fuji, enjoy panoramic view of Fuji area. then drive up to Japan alps to Takayama, enjoy breathtaking view on the way. Accommodation Japanese inn (ryokan) "Hidatei Hanaougi"
Day 2 Takayama- Matsumoto- Tokyo
Takayama is well known as Little Kyoto, which has retained traditional touch like few other Japanese cities. Stroll through old street and houses. Place for visit(Hida folk village, Takayama-jinya, Sanmachi-suji etc) Then, drive to Matsumoto , visit a wonderful castle Transfer back to Tokyo
